Solution: Strategically Reversing The Trailer To Pickup The Backhoe
The narrow dirt road made it difficult to maneuver. The driver couldn’t go forward because he needed to back up the trailer to the backhoe. They’d have to use a ramp and winch to load it safely.
So, the only option was to reverse down the path.
The driver and a spotter backed almost half a mile down the dirt road. They were cautious, going slow and ensuring they stayed away from the ditch. The last thing they needed was the trailer sliding off.
But, the driver, an expert at his trade, eased toward the backhoe without issue.
Result: Safely Transporting a Non-Running Backhoe to California
Once the backhoe was safely secured on the step deck trailer, driving forward to get out of the limited access space was much simpler.
