Interstate 85 enters South Carolina at the Georgia state line near Anderson and ends at the northern state border near Gaffney. It spans 106 miles, passing through Greenville and Spartanburg. I-26 is one of the major north-south shipping routes, stretching from the North Carolina borderline near Landrum and runs southeast up to Charleston. It connects various cities, such as Newberry, Columbia, and Orangeburg. With a few guardrails, drivers must be alert when shipping cargo on I-26.

Interstate 77 covers about 91 miles and begins at the intersection with I-26, near Cayce, on Congaree River. The road runs across the state up to the intersection with US-21 at the North Carolina state line. When shipping cargo from southwest SC, I-95 provides convenient access to the state's hinterlands. It starts at the Georgia borderline, south of Hardeeville, spanning 198 miles to Hamer, near the NC state line. In SC, I-20 covers about 140 miles, running from the Georgia state border, in northeast Augusta, GA to Florence, at the intersection with I-95.
